Transport: Autolinee Toscane buses, a camera-controlled ZTL and the ISEE pass coupon
Public transport is run by Autolinee Toscane: in Massa and Carrara the "urbano capoluogo" ticket applies. The centre has a ZTL with 8 electronic gates, some active 24 hours a day and others in the evening and on public holidays; permits are requested online with SPID or CIE. The Comune's public relations office issues the coupon for ISEE-based discounted passes.

Buses
Local public transport is run by Autolinee Toscane (at). To travel within Massa or Carrara you need the "urbano capoluogo" ticket; with a band 1 or 2 extra-urban ticket starting or ending in Massa or Carrara you can also use the urban network. Line L71 has mixed fares: the ticket depends on the section travelled.
ZTL
Access to the limited traffic zone is checked electronically at 8 gates. Via Betti, via Staffetti and via Bocchetta are active 24 hours a day; via Prado, piazza Bastione, via Prado/piazza Martana and piazza Mercato from 5 pm to 7 am Monday to Saturday and all day on public holidays; via Cavour all day on public holidays and from 5 pm to 7 am on working days. Residents and people domiciled there, owners, businesses and people with disabilities can get a permanent or temporary pass, requested on the Comune's ZTL portal with SPID or CIE; for residents the pass lasts as long as their residence. Occasional entries must be reported within 24 hours.
ISEE discounts
People with an ISEE below 36,151.98 euro can get the regional discounted fare for rail passes and motorway-link coach passes (Tuscan regional executive resolution 750/2012). The coupon is printed on the spot at the public relations office, on presentation of the ISEE certificate and health card.
