Who covers the city
Giugliano comes under ASL Napoli 2 Nord, the health authority for the area north of Naples and the islands of Ischia and Procida: the city alone makes up Health District 37, based at corso Campano 316, the reference point for community care and residents' health paperwork.
Hospital and emergency department
The city hospital is the «San Giuliano», at via Giambattista Basile 1 (tel. 081 8955111): the ASL lists it as one of its four hospitals — with Pozzuoli, Ischia and Frattamaggiore — with an emergency department open 24 hours a day; the detached Procida facility completes the network.
Choosing a GP
Choosing or changing the family doctor or paediatrician can be done independently online, through the Campania Region's citizens' health portal, or in person at the local district by handing in the choice/revocation form.
Out-of-hours doctor
The continuity-of-care service (ex guardia medica) operates across the whole ASL territory and stands in for the family doctor at night and on holidays and pre-holidays, without replacing the emergency department or 118.
