Metro and railways

The south-eastern corner of the rione, at piazzale Ostiense, is one of the best-served transport nodes in Rome. Piramide station on metro B takes you to Termini in four stops (Circo Massimo, Colosseo, Cavour, Termini) and towards Garbatella, San Paolo and EUR in the other direction. Next to it, Porta San Paolo station is the terminus of the Metromare (former Roma–Lido) to Ostia, run by Cotral. A few steps away, Roma Ostiense railway station is served by regional lines FL1 (Orte – Fiumicino Aeroporto, a direct train to the airport), FL3 and FL5 and by some long-distance trains.

From the opposite side of the rione, via Marmorata and ponte Sublicio lead in ten minutes on foot to Roma Trastevere station, also on the FL1.

Trams, buses, night

Tram 3 runs along via Marmorata and piazzale Ostiense, linking Trastevere station with Circo Massimo, Colosseo, San Giovanni and San Lorenzo (in autumn 2026 the final section towards Valle Giulia is replaced by buses). Buses on via Marmorata head for Trastevere, St Peter's and piazza Venezia; from piazzale Ostiense lines leave for EUR along via Ostiense and the Cristoforo Colombo and for the centre along viale Aventino. At night line nMB follows metro B and stops at Piramide; the night network map is on the ATAC website.

Airports, on foot, by bike

For Fiumicino the FL1 train from Roma Ostiense is the easiest way. For Ciampino take metro B to Termini and then the buses, or the metro to Laurentina and bus 720 (Metrebus Roma fare). On foot you reach the Circus Maximus in ten minutes over the Aventine and Trastevere in ten over ponte Sublicio. The rione is flat and the lungotevere cycle path runs along the bank; shared bikes and e-scooters are available and used to reach Piramide.
