Daily life in the historic centre
Public green space consists of small neighbourhood parks: Parco Viviani, Parco dei Ventaglieri and Parco dei Quartieri Spagnoli. Federico II's historic seats and libraries lie between corso Umberto I, piazza Bellini and via Monteoliveto.

Parks of Municipalità 2
The Comune lists three parks in Municipalità 2: Parco Viviani in Avvocata, on via Girolamo Santacroce, with views over the gulf and a flat area with fruit trees; Parco dei Ventaglieri, also in Avvocata, on via Avellino a Tarsia, which links two parts of the city; and the Parco dei Quartieri Spagnoli in Montecalvario, on vico della Trinità delle Monache, tied to the former abbey of the Santissima Trinità delle Monache.
University and libraries
The centre is where Federico II's historic seats are. At corso Umberto I 40, the central seat, is the Law area library; at piazza Bellini 59-60 the Humanities area library and the «Roberto Pettorino» University Library Centre; at vico Monte di Pietà 1 the Social Sciences library; at via Monteoliveto 3 the Architecture library.
