The urban service is run by Autolinee Varesine. To buy a pass you need the “Io Viaggio” or “Muoversi a Varese” identification card, valid for five years. The fares in force from 1 September 2026, set by the local public-transport agency in resolution no. 17 of 11 August 2026, distinguish lines D, L and M (urban area), which have a zone-based fare, from the others.

Published tickets include weekly, monthly (also weekdays only), annual, student and under-26 passes, “Io Viaggio in famiglia” (free from the third child if all are minors) and the integrated “Io Viaggio Ovunque in Lombardia” and “Ovunque in Provincia – Varese” titles. The TrenoCittà Varese title, sold by Trenord, is valid on one rail route towards Varese and on Autolinee Varesine's urban buses.
