Leisure: Palio, Walking Francigena Ultramarathon, e-bikes and Mercato nel Campo
The city calendar includes the Palio (2 July and 16 August), the Mercato nel Campo (in December) and, in October, the Walking Francigena Ultramarathon from Siena to Acquapendente. The Comune runs an e-bike sharing service (Sipedala) and two free public Wi-Fi networks.

The Palio is run in Piazza del Campo on 2 July and 16 August. In December the Comune organises, with trade associations, Il Mercato nel Campo. In October the Walking Francigena Ultramarathon runs from Siena to Acquapendente, starting from Piazza del Duomo.
Outdoors and beyond the city
Siena leads the three-year agreement to promote the Via Francigena Sud, and the Comune has published a call for maintenance of the route for 2026-2027. In town the Sipedala electric bike sharing is active; the Comune's news also mentions the "Artemio Franchi" stadium, whose green areas are being maintained.
