According to the report «Dinamica delle imprese anno 2025» by the Camera di Commercio di Sassari Nord Sardegna, in 2025 the chamber's area recorded 2,864 new registrations and 2,028 closures, a growth rate of 1.55%, the highest among Sardinia's chambers and eighth of Italy's 105. By number of firms the largest sectors are services (10,051, +3.6%), commerce (9,777, -1.3%), the primary sector (9,149, -1.1%) and construction (7,781, +1.2%); tourism counts 5,013 firms (+2.3%), with accommodation growing mainly through non-hotel facilities. The figures cover the whole of northern Sardinia, not the municipality alone.
Health and university
The Azienda ospedaliero-universitaria di Sassari is based at viale San Pietro 10; its services include the emergency department, an obstetric-gynaecological emergency unit, radiotherapy and nephrology, which provides round-the-clock apheresis for central-northern Sardinia. It also works with the University of Sassari on research.
Services for job seekers
The Comune's Informagiovani, at piazza Santa Caterina 25, publishes a job-offers page, provides first guidance and points to Sardegna Lavoro, Europass and EURES; it is aimed mainly at people aged 15 to 35 but open to all, including through an online desk.
