The Teatro Verdi is the municipal theatre, with an annual season of opera, concerts and ballet. The main green spaces are the Mercatello park, the Pinocchio park for children and the Minerva Garden. Saint Matthew in September and the winter Luci d'Artista are the city's two big events.

The Teatro Verdi, in piazza Matteo Luciani, is a municipal theatre: its artistic direction programmes an annual season of opera, concerts and ballet, while a Comune office handles administration and use by third parties.
Parks and gardens
Among the city's green spaces the national tourism portal lists the Mercatello park, the Pinocchio park for young children, and the Minerva Garden, a garden of cultivated plants visited with a ticket.
City festivals
The feast of Saint Matthew on 21 September carries the saints' statues in procession through the centre as far as the Teatro Verdi and the blessing of the sea in piazza Cavour. From November to early February the Luci d'Artista light up the historic centre, corso Vittorio Emanuele, the Villa Comunale and piazza Flavio Gioia.
