Daily life: residence, waste collection by zone, ZTL permits
Residence is best declared online on ANPR, or by appointment at the central registry office in piazza dei Signori, or by certified email. Waste is collected in three ways depending on the zone, by AcegasApsAmga. To enter the ZTL, residents and holders of a parking space request a permit from the ZTL Office.

Residence
Newcomers from another Italian municipality or from abroad file the residence declaration through one channel only: online on the Interior Ministry's ANPR portal, the option the Comune recommends; in person, by appointment, at the central registry office (Anagrafe centrale) at piazza dei Signori 23; or by registered post or certified email (PEC) to immigrazione@pec.comune.padova.it. ANPR does not handle registrations in institutional households (care homes, boarding schools, convents, barracks, social cooperatives), which must use the other channels. The desk is open on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, by appointment only.
Waste
Collection depends on the zone: door to door in the historic centre (orange zone) and in parts of districts 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6; dedicated containers only in District 1 Centro (green zone); paired street bins in the rest of the city (yellow zone). Grass, leaves and prunings go in bins AcegasApsAmga provides free of charge, with pick-up booked on the toll-free number 800 955988, in the Il Rifiutologo app or on the operator's website; hazardous waste, appliances and furniture go to the recycling centres.
ZTL
Entering the limited-traffic zone (ZTL) requires an authorisation (formerly the contrassegno). Categories include holders of a parking space on private property (type 1) and registered residents without private parking (types 2 and 2bis), as well as craftsmen, shopkeepers and other groups. Permanent permits are requested by contacting the ZTL Office by email or through the call centre; online, on the Comune's applications portal, only the plates of lorries up to 3.5 tonnes, vehicles of people with disabilities, and taxis and hire cars are registered.
