Health: Modena's AUSL and AOU, Policlinico, Baggiovara and the CAU
The city is one of the seven districts of the AUSL of Modena. The University Hospital Trust, created on 1 January 2019, brings together the Policlinico (largo del Pozzo 71) and the Baggiovara Civil Hospital, the provincial reference centre for trauma, heart attack and stroke. The CAU is on the ground floor of the Policlinico (daily 8–24); the out-of-hours doctor answers on 800 032032.

Who covers the city
The Azienda USL di Modena covers the province through seven health districts: Modena city is a district of its own, alongside Carpi, Castelfranco Emilia, Mirandola, Pavullo nel Frignano, Sassuolo and Vignola. In the city the AUSL runs Case della Comunità, booking points and local services; the city's hospitals belong instead to the University Hospital Trust.
Hospitals: Policlinico and Baggiovara
The Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria di Modena, created on 1 January 2019, is made up of the Policlinico (largo del Pozzo 71, next to the UNIMORE medical campus) and the Baggiovara Civil Hospital. Baggiovara is the provincial reference centre for trauma and time-dependent conditions, in particular heart attack and stroke; the Policlinico concentrates mother-and-child care, paediatric onco-haematology and neonatal intensive care. CAU: low-complexity urgent care
Modena's Assistance and Urgency Centre is at via del Pozzo 71, on the ground floor of the Policlinico next to entrance 31: open every day from 8:00 to 24:00 with direct access, for urgent but non-serious problems. From 24:00 to 8:00 you call the out-of-hours service.
Out-of-hours doctor
Modena's out-of-hours service (ex guardia medica) is based at via Rita Levi Montalcini 200 and is activated by calling 800 032032 first: every night from 20:00 to 8:00 and, on holidays and pre-holidays, also from 8:00 to 20:00.
