Work: exports accelerating, agri-food and manufacturing
According to the 2025 provincial economic report of the Cremona-Mantova-Pavia Chamber of Commerce, in the province of Mantua exports grow 6.4% a year, manufacturing output 4.1% and employment 0.5%, with unemployment at 3.7% and a persistent gender gap. The area leads in PDO dairy production and pig farming.

The province's economy
The 2025 provincial economic report of the Cremona-Mantova-Pavia Chamber of Commerce puts the province of Mantua's value added at 14,348.3 million euros, 3.2% of the Lombard total, composed of 60.4% services, 28.5% industry, 6.0% agriculture and 5.0% construction. Mantua and Cremona are described as leading provinces in dairy production, including PDO cheeses, and in pig farming; in 2025 Mantuan manufacturing output grew by 4.1% on average and exports by 6.4% year on year, a pace the report calls "strongly accelerating".
Labour market
In 2025 provincial employment grew by 0.5% and the unemployment rate is 3.7%; the report notes a persistent gender gap. The Cremona-Mantova-Pavia Chamber of Commerce has its legal seat in Mantua and publishes provincial economic analyses, the annual report and the commodity exchange price lists.
