Housing: the municipal public-housing ranking and a municipal rent-support fund
In Fermo the public-housing ranking is drawn up through calls by the municipality: in the latest one (June 2025) the application, on the municipal form with a revenue stamp, had to be delivered to the registry office, sent by PEC or by registered post within 60 days. Public housing (ERP)
The municipality of Fermo draws up, through a public call, the ranking of applicants for public housing (edilizia residenziale pubblica, ERP). In the latest call (June 2025) the requirements were: Italian or EU citizenship, or an EU long-term residence permit or a permit valid for at least two years; residence or work in Fermo; no share above 25% in a home suitable for the household; an ISEE of no more than 13,877 euros (limit set by the Region for 2025, raised by 20% for people living alone); no previous allocation, as owner, of a home built with public funds.
How applications were made
The application had to be made only on the form prepared by the municipality, with a revenue stamp, and delivered by hand to the registry office (Ufficio Protocollo, after an identification code was added by the social services desk), sent by certified e-mail (PEC) or by registered post with return receipt within 60 days of publication on the official notice board (Albo pretorio); for Italian citizens living abroad the deadline was extended by 15 days. Rent support
The municipality has a fund to help families in difficulty pay the rent of the home where they are resident. The latest call, for 2024 rents, was open to people resident in Fermo in the rented home with a duly registered lease, with no rights over a home suitable for the household, and with an ISEE of no more than 6,947.33 euros (equal to the 2024 social allowance).
