Traffic limits
The city has updated its BergamoRespira page on air quality and measures against air pollution. From 1 October 2026 the permanent ban on Euro 5 diesel cars did not come into force in Bergamo and has been postponed to 1 October 2027; limits on other vehicle classes, up to Euro 4 diesels, remain. Some road sections and park-and-ride car parks are excluded from the ban; the page also explains the MoVe-In service.
Temporary measures and burning
When PM10 stays above the limits for a prolonged period, temporary anti-smog measures are activated. BergamoRespira also gathers the rules on home heating, outdoor burning and livestock effluents.
