Anti-smog restrictions
Asti is one of the Piedmont municipalities subject to the traffic restrictions of regional resolution DGR 26-3694 of 6 August 2021, in the "Plain" zone. Each municipality concerned applies them through a mayoral ordinance drafted on the regional template, which may also make the rules stricter. From 15 September to 15 April ARPA Piemonte monitors the conditions in which pollutants build up and triggers the orange and red levels of the anti-smog traffic light, which add temporary measures to the structural restrictions; the level in force is shown on the Aria+ Piemonte portal, the local rules in the municipal ordinance.
Seismic and hydrogeological risk
In the seismic classification list updated in May 2025 by the Civil Protection Department, Asti is in zone 4, the least hazardous of the four. According to the indicators of ISPRA's IdroGEO platform (2024 report on hydrogeological instability), 1,109 residents, 1.5% of the population, live in areas of medium flood hazard and 89 in areas of high or very high landslide hazard. House hunters can check the municipality's map on the same platform.
