Organisation
The Aosta Valley has a single Azienda USL covering all 74 municipalities: the Umberto Parini regional hospital in Aosta (with the Beauregard site) is the only acute hospital; district clinics and health centres cover the valleys. Newcomers choose a GP at the Azienda USL desks or online with SPID/CIE.
Booking, health record, exemptions
Bookings go through the single regional CUP (phone number on the ausl.vda.it portal) and online services; the Electronic Health Record is accessed from the same portal. Thanks to the special statute, the Region funds health care from its own resources and can decide exemptions and services beyond the national level: these must be checked each year.
Mountains
Mountain rescue is entrusted to Soccorso Alpino Valdostano, a regional public body, with a helicopter based in Aosta operating all year: call 112. Rescues of uninjured people or outside marked pistes and trails may be charged: skiers and climbers should carry specific insurance. Ski resorts also have resort doctors.
