Who covers the city
Nuoro belongs to ASL Nuoro, whose registered office is at via Amerigo Demurtas 1 (switchboard 0784 240237). The list of family doctors and paediatricians on the site can be filtered by district: Macomer, Nuoro, Siniscola and Sorgono. The ASL publishes a file with the phone contacts of the Nuoro District and the administrative offices.
Hospital and emergency room
The San Francesco hospital (P.O. San Francesco) is on via Salvatore Mannironi, where it also has a drug-distribution point of the local pharmacy service. In its emergency room the ASL applies the See and Treat model, in which nursing staff independently take charge of low-complexity patients. The Emergency Room Monitor published on the ASL's site shows crowding in Sardinian emergency rooms in real time.
Family doctor
Choosing or revoking the doctor is done online, free of charge, for people already enrolled in ASL Nuoro's lists; you need the health card/CNS with PIN and reader, or SPID or CIE. The list of doctors and paediatricians with surgery addresses can be consulted on the site.
Bookings
The CUP answers on 1533 from landlines and on 070 276424 or 070 474747 from mobiles. Online (cupweb.sardegnasalute.it) you can book prescriptions with priority D and P, while for priorities U and B you must go to a CUP counter; the ticket can also be paid at the ASL's ticket counters.
Out-of-hours doctor
The ASL Nuoro pages consulted do not describe the locations or hours of the out-of-hours service (ex guardia medica); the site shows the European number +116 117 without further explanation: ask the ASL where and when to go.
