Identity: Manzoni's city, divided into rioni
Lecco is organised in rioni (the Comune describes their churches: Laorca, Bonacina, Acquate, Olate, Castello, Germanedo, Belledo) and builds its image on the Manzoni heritage: Villa Manzoni, the festival «Lecco Città dei Promessi Sposi» and the Lu.C.I.A. project on the Promessi sposi heritage.

Rioni
Among the places of worship described by the Comune are the churches of the rioni of Laorca, Bonacina, Acquate, Olate, Castello, Germanedo and Belledo; another area mentioned in cultural initiatives is Maggianico, with the Ponchielli, Gomes and Ghislanzoni villas, the subject of the «Lecco Scapigliata» tour.
The Manzoni thread
Villa Manzoni is one of the five sites of the urban museum system and is devoted to the life and work of Alessandro Manzoni. The Lu.C.I.A. project (Luoghi Cultura Innovazione Apprendimento) joins memory and innovation to enhance the Promessi sposi heritage through a network of local partners, and the festival «Lecco Città dei Promessi Sposi» (18th edition in 2026) is dedicated to the writer.
