Comune and documents
Registry services (residence, certificates, electronic ID card) are provided at the decentralised offices of the five Municipi as well as at the central office: the CIE is requested by appointment through the Comune's booking platform and posted to your home. Newcomers declare their residence at their Municipio's desk or online with a digital identity; the change is recorded within two days and verified over the following months.
Waste
Waste collection is entrusted to AMIU Puglia: in the centre and dense districts street bins for separated waste prevail, while door-to-door collection with a calendar by waste type operates in several districts and the former villages; municipal collection centres take bulky items, electronic waste and garden waste, with home pickup of bulky items on request. The TARI waste tax is paid to the Comune, which publishes rates and deadlines.
Water, libraries, markets
Tap water is supplied by the Acquedotto Pugliese and is drinkable; activating or taking over a contract is done online or at AQP desks. The Colibrì network brings together the Comune's neighbourhood libraries, with lending, study rooms and children's activities; the city also has the National Library and university libraries. Every district has a weekly or covered local market for fruit, fish and clothing; supermarkets are widespread, while small grocers and bakeries remain the norm for bread and focaccia.
