Health: ASP Agrigento, the San Giovanni di Dio hospital and out-of-hours posts in the city
The city depends on the ASP di Agrigento and the Agrigento Health District (offices at viale della Vittoria 321). The emergency room is at the "San Giovanni di Dio" hospital. Who covers the city
The Agrigento Health District covers the comuni of Agrigento, Aragona, Comitini, Favara, Joppolo Giancaxio, Porto Empedocle, Raffadali, Realmonte, Sant'Angelo Muxaro, Santa Elisabetta and Siculiana; its office is at viale della Vittoria 321 (management 0922 407454). The URP and the Single Access Point answer on 0922 407752 and 0922 407798.
Hospital and emergency room
The "San Giovanni di Dio" hospital in Agrigento has its switchboard on 0922 442111 and the emergency room on 0922 442119 and 0922 442124. The ASP also publishes a page monitoring emergency-room attendance.
Bookings
The CUP has a single number, 0922 407350, open Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 13:30 and Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 14:30 to 17:30. The Agrigento district desk is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 12:30; the hospital desk Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 15:30. Bookings are also possible in pharmacies (dematerialised prescriptions) and on the regional SovraCUP portal; the ticket is paid only by POS at the desks or in pharmacies.
Out-of-hours doctor
There are three out-of-hours posts in the city: Agrigento-Fontanelle (PTA Poliambulatorio, via Giovanni XXIII, 0922 407764), San Leone (viale dei Giardini 138, 0922 407900) and Giardina Gallotti (via Napoli 59, 0922 442391). The service runs every day from 20:00 to 8:00, on Saturdays and pre-holidays from 10:00 to 20:00, on holidays from 8:00 to 20:00. The paediatric first-aid point (PPI) of Agrigento is in the PTA Poliambulatorio on via Giovanni XXIII (0922 407758) on holidays and pre-holidays from 10:00 to 20:00. From 15 June to 15 September a tourist out-of-hours post runs at San Leone (0922 407902), with fees for people not resident in Sicily.
